Caroline

I've been so busy lately, not just with weddings, but also with boudoir shoots!  I can't share them all with you, but Caroline was kind enough to give me permission to share some of the images we did of her with you all!  I think you'll agree with me that she did a fantastic job!

Caroline's husband is a huge Duke fan, just like mine, so we had to do some shots with a jersey.  Jerseys aren't always that flattering for a woman to wear, so we had her just hold it in front of her.  It gets the idea across still, but it's way more sexy, don't you think?

I love doing boudoir shoots in my home, but one of the challenges is to keep things fresh and new when you shoot in the same location a lot.  On this day, something caught me eye and I noticed how gorgeous the light coming through one of the windows was in a spot I'd never really paid attention to before.  Love it!

This pose is reminiscent of a forties pin up shot to me.  Look at those legs!

It was so hot the day of our shoot, we waited until the very end to go outside into the garden for some shots, but with great results, don't you think?

Lauren and Adam's Wedding

Congratulations to Lauren and Adam who were married on June 6th at Highland Baptist Church in Hope Mills.  Lauren had been referred to me by one of my other brides, Meghan, who will be celebrating her 2nd anniversary next month!  I always appreciate referrals as it means I've done my job well, but beyond that, it also means that I get to see people again which is always a treat!  For this wedding, I really liked all of the diy projects that Lauren was able to find the time to do.  I really don't know how she did it as she just graduated from pharmacy school!
Here's some highlights from the day:

Lauren touches up the makeup of one of her bridesmaids after the tears started to flow:

Adam looking very handsome!

This little guy entertained himself while they were waiting for the ceremony to start by putting on his mother's high heeled pumps!  Too cute, but I imagine that in about 12 years or so he's really not going to appreciate this shot!

I really liked the tulle bows that Lauren used to decorate the pews.  She's very crafty!

We stopped at the golf course on our way to the reception for a few quick shots:

Our same little friend in the heels during the ceremony decided to get in on the action during the first dance:

Tears and laughter during the Father/Daughter dance:

You've got to appreciate the effort to ensure the catch in this bouquet toss!

A group shot of all the guests taken from the balcony of the reception ballroom:

Thankfully the rain held off and we took a few more shots outside:

Then back inside for some dancing:

I'm not exactly sure what's going on in this shot, but it makes me smile!

Admiring the ring:

Check out these ladies doing the limbo!  Pretty amazing, especially considering they're wearing high heels!  Even after doing Karate for a year now, I'm lucky I can just touch my toes!

And the bubble exit!

These two are waiting to go on their honeymoon until after Adam passes the bar, so good luck, Adam and congratulations again to both of you!

Gina and Sam's Wedding

In my job as a wedding photographer, I have the pleasure of meeting many engaged couples.  Sometimes it's not always apparent as a casual observer what brings two people together as a couple until you start getting to know them a little better.  Not so with Gina and Sam!  These two are so obviously meant for each other.  There's an easiness and happiness between them that's beautiful to see and it was a privilege to be part of their wedding day.

Every time I've met with her, Gina always has the most fantastic hand bags, and even her wedding day was no exception:

The guys looking very smart in their tails:

Gina and three of her sisters.  It's easy to spot the family resemblance, isn't it?

Gina's 5 nieces were the flower girls.  Here they're watching as Gina puts on her veil:

Things started to get a little emotional at that point:

But then Gina's dad had a few words with her:

I don't know what he said, but he got her to smile:

The flower girls did an excellent job.  It was too far away to really see on camera, but one of the girls got to the end of the aisle and realized she still had petals left, so she just tipped her basket over and dumped them out.  Too cute!:

Very happy couple:

Gina and Sam took a few minutes to have some private time immediately after the ceremony, which is something I definitely recommend if you're not going to see each other ahead of time.  It gave them a few moments to just talk to each other, which there's not usually much time for:

As we're doing a portrait session later, we didn't spend much time doing any that day, but I did snap a couple quickly before we left the chapel:

The beautiful bouquet:

First dance:

Gina's father organized an impromptu chair dance:

One final dance:

And then they left in a vintage mustang convertible.  I just hope they new how to put the top up, because as soon as they left, it started pouring!  And their luggage was in the back seat as you can see:

Congratulations, Gina and Sam!

Satomi and Evan

Congratulations to Satomi and Evan who were married last Saturday!  The two of them met when Evan was studying over in Japan and fell in love!  This was actually their second ceremony as they were married once already back in Japan.  The ceremony this time was in a Jewish Temple, Temple Beth Or, and the blending of cultures throughout the day was beautiful.

Satomi was a gorgeous bride:

No pictures were allowed during the actual ceremony, so we recreated some shots just for the camera.  Here Satomi and Evan are practicing their acting skills as they drink from empty glasses:

I liked the fact you can see the silhouette of all of Satomi's features in this shot:

  The first dance:

And then much laughing during the parents' dance:

I haven't laughed during a reception quite as hard in a long time as I did during the Horah, the traditional dance where the bride and groom are lifted on chairs:

Here they were trying to pass the napkin back and forth, with limited success:

Next it was Satomi's parents turn.  You have to give them serious props for being very good sports!

And then Evan's parents.  Based on the coordinated arm movement displayed, I think they've done this before!

All of the bride's maids took a turn as well:

A lot of times at receptions when the boquet and garter tosses are done, there will be a lot of enthusiasm from the women, but the men make a big show of trying to stay as far from the garter as possible.  This wedding was the total opposite.  I don't think they have this tradition in Japan, because if you look at the picture below, you'll see the bouquet actually in the air, but half the bridesmaids are looking in different directions, and one even has her arms crossed:

Here's the surprised reactions when the bouquet came down and was caught:

Now the men on the other hand were totally jockeying for position:

And triumph:

Stephanie

Let me tell you, the hotness factor has been high around here lately!  Last weekend I had another incredible boudoir session with Stephanie, who is getting married in just one month!

Here's a few highlights:

We also did some sexy shots with her veil:

And some not so innocent looking shots back inside:

And shots in his favorite team's jersey:
